BOHAN Wins Two Emmy Awards for Fazoli's, UMC

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (February 2010)—BOHAN Advertising|Marketing won two Emmy Awards for work done for Fazoli’s and United Methodist Communications in the 24th annual Midsouth Emmy Awards competition.  This is the sixth year in a row BOHAN has won the coveted award.

The Fazoli’s Emmy was for “Blown Away,” a humorous commercial with special effects promoting the value and quality of the restaurant chain’s menu.  The United Methodist Communications award was for the “Rethink” Church” campaign that encouraged viewers to view church participation from different perspectives.

Emmys for commercial work in the Midsouth region date only to 2004. There are two commercial categories—spot and campaign—and BOHAN landed three nominations in each.  No other Nashville advertising agency received commercial category nominations. BOHAN’s seventh nomination was for a public service announcement.

Broadcast producer Deb Rhodes, who joined BOHAN in 2005, oversaw all of the nominated projects.

The Nashville/Midsouth Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences gives the awards. NASCAR champion Darrell Waltrip was the emcee for the presentation gala at Nashville’s Schermerhorn Symphony Center.

Geneva Brignolo, executive director of the Nashville/MidSouth Chapter, said judges examine content, creativity and execution to determine winners of  “television’s highest honor.”

“Commercials are subject to the same scrutiny that is applied to documentaries,” she said.

The Nashville/Midsouth region covers Tennessee, North Carolina (except the Asheville market) and the Huntsville, Ala., market.
