The staff of BOHAN Advertising | Marketing saw Christmas 2009 as a time to help some neighbors and did so with a collective gift of $3,050 to the Second Harvest Food Bank.
Second Harvest, which supports food pantries throughout Middle Tennessee, has such buying power that it can transform that gift into 12,000 meals.
The BOHAN gift came from three sources: an agency gift, amounts donated by individuals (which were matched by the agency) and a spirited intra-agency auction.
Most of the auction items capitalized on individual employees’ hobbies and talents. Among them were a fly-fishing trip offered by a dedicated trout fisherman, a specialty birthday cake offered by a excellent baker, a sunset cruise and cocktails offered by the owner of a cabin cruiser and a canoe trip offered by the agency’s resident canoeist.
Jaynee Day, president and CEO of Second Harvest, liked the auction idea so much that she said she wants to organize one for her staff.
