BOHAN Hits Grand Slam With Pigeon Forge Satellite Tour

BOHAN hit a publicity grand slam with a satellite media to launch the 20th year of Pigeon Forge Winterfest, a four-month-long travel season in Pigeon Forge, Tenn.

Celebrity spokespeople for the tour were Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar, the mom and dad in the “18 Kids and Counting” reality TV show on TLC. The Duggars are fans of Pigeon Forge and were in town to turn on the city’s five million Winterfest lights.

“The satellite tour worked to perfection—19 interviews booked and 19 interviews completed,” said Donnette Engebrecht, account supervisor for the Pigeon Forge Department of Tourism account.

The agency worked with MediaLink to orchestrate the tour, targeting key markets for Pigeon Forge visitation. Among the live rapid-fire interviews were ones in Lexington, Ky., Charleston, W.Va., Huntsville, Ala., Memphis, Tenn., and Nashville, Tenn.

The four-hour marathon of live interviews reached 1.4 million TV viewers and radio listeners, and a Duggar interview that MedaLink produced for national distribution has reached another 9.5 million people.

After a morning of interviews, the whole Duggar family gathered that evening in Patriot Park for music and doing something they can’t do at home—turn on a bunch of lights and leave them on.
